what, this isnt the line for the apple store?

In July (?) when the iPhone came out, Philadelphia's mayor, John Street (far right, sitting), decided that the climbing murder rate and skyrocketing poverty in the city could wait a few hours, but his burning desire for the newest status symbol of consumer gluttony could not. He bravely and deftly joined the hundreds (or, lets be honest, probably thousands) of people lined up in cities and towns all over the country to wait patiently in line for his iPhone. He braved rain, unseasonable chilly temps, and tingling limbs from cut off circulation for his chance to be among the first to get his paws on multi-touch imput. Today, Philadelphia's new mayor, Michael Nutter, opened the doors of City Hall to any person who wanted to come in and check under the hood. He has vowed to stay until the last person leaves. This is what it might look like if Street had been as eager to go to work in the mornings as he was to be a techie.
